Microsoft 365 tenants set up in South Africa keep core data (mailboxes, SharePoint and OneDrive files, and Teams chats) at rest in Microsoft's South African datacentres. Older tenants are sometimes stored in Europe, so we'll check yours.
Microsoft keeps the service running; protecting your data is a shared job. We add a separate, tested backup so you can roll back to a known good copy.
POPIA asks you to take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information. We set up the technical side properly, and our Managed POPIA service helps with the rest.

Microsoft's Business plans (Basic, Standard and Premium) cover up to 300 users, and larger organisations use Enterprise plans. If you handle client or staff personal information, we usually recommend Business Premium, because it adds Intune device management, Entra ID P1 identity protection and Defender threat protection.
If your tenant was set up in South Africa, Microsoft commits to keeping core data, including mailboxes, SharePoint and OneDrive files and Teams chats, at rest in its South African datacentres. Older tenants are sometimes stored in Europe. We'll check yours and explain your options.
Microsoft keeps the service running and offers recycle bins and retention settings, but under its shared responsibility model your data is yours to protect, and Microsoft recommends you back it up regularly. We set up a separate, tested backup.
It depends on how many people, mailboxes and files you have and where they live today. After a short assessment we give you a written plan and timeline, and schedule the switch-over to keep disruption low.
No software can do that on its own. POPIA asks you to take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information. Microsoft 365, set up properly, gives you strong technical tools, and our Managed POPIA service helps with people and process.
